Join Patricia Allen in the walk for leukemia research....
Hello Friend: I wonder if you will help me with a very special request. Thomas Giallella and I are teaming up in the fight against leukemia. Thomas is six years old and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in May 1999. On October 27, 2002, I will walk a 26.2 mile marathon in Washington, DC with the Marine Corps in honor of Thomas. A marathon is a significant undertaking to train for and complete. However, the marathon of treatments needed to win the fight against leukemia is much greater. I am happy to report that with the help of cutting edge, experimental type treatments developed through research, Thomas’ leukemia is in remission. While Thomas and his family are quite fortunate, others with this disease are not so lucky and research efforts provide their only hope. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Central Florida Chapter, has organized a fundraising “Team” to help raise funds that will accelerate research to benefit the children and adults currently fighting the battle against leukemia. As a member of the “Team in Training” group, my goal is to raise at least $3,600.00 for leukemia research and patient aid. Please join us in this fight by completing the linked donor form and sending it to me along with your check made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or with your credit card information. A response would be appreciated by June 30th so I can gauge how I am doing towards meeting my personal commitment, which will afford me the ability to concentrate on my training. Contributions are tax deductible and will be accepted at a later date if June 30th proves to be unacceptable. Thomas and I have begun our journey already. The only thing we need to get us across the finish line is your financial support. I am sure I can count on your contribution and to be there with us in spirit as I cross that 26.2 mile marker! Without you, we cannot accomplish this. I thank you for caring and for your generous and prompt response. God bless you, Patricia A. Allen |
